Work Party at Ardantane August 9

It's confirmed, there WILL be a Blessed Beavers work party on Saturday, August 9. Kim will be organizing the show, since Azrael and I will be at Dragonfest. Major focus: drywalling the interior of the Dome. ALTHOUGH if a High Team is available, then rubberizing the Dome roof will continue too! If you can push a broom, cut drywall, move ladders, or put in screws, you can be very helpful. Come

Harvest Celebration Saturday at Ardantane

Join us this Saturday evening, August 2,  at Ardantane for our Lughnassad (First Harvest) ritual and potluck! This ancient celebration marks the first or grain harvest. It is named for Lugh, a Celtic sun god who was master of all arts and crafts. In Pagan mythology, the Sun God pours his power into the fertile earth, and is transformed into the Grain God, whose gifts make it possible for the

Dome Moves Toward Completion

It's been four years of construction on the Dome, but the end is in sight. The Dome, as some of you know, will be our multi-purpose classroom/temple/meetingspace at Ardantane. On Sunday the Blessed Beavers dug in and worked like--well, like Beavers. The primary coat of rubberized roofing compound is just about done, and about half the interior drywall is installed. Now we need to finish up

Our First Teen Retreat: SUCCESS!

They ranged from 12-18 years of age, and came from Los Alamos, Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Alamogordo, Las Cruces, and Lubbock. And they are an extraordianry group of young people--what a privilege to work with them! Activities included

Lookat Those Beavers Go!

The Blessed Beavers worked like crazy last Saturday, and got great things done. The Oasis has rock-lined paths and lots of greenery, and the grass is coming up in our new circle. The Dome has the first drywall going up, and we continued creating the 22 nichos that will hold various Pagan deity shrines. Very importantly, another big area of the Dome roof got rubberized (we MUST get the rubberized

Ardantane Spaceport? Why not?

Okay, we're gonna do it-- we're gonna launch a rocket from Ardantane. Okay, it's a small rocket. Specifically an Estes Astrovision Digital Video Camera Rocket. It's mission is to take aerial photos of the Ardantane land and buildings, to help us create an accurate-scale Master Plan for the campus. We've hoped for years that we could get aerial photos, but hiring an airplane to do it is

Ardantane Oasis Growing

The "Oasis" at Ardantane is that small piece of land across the road from Hawk Haven, behind the "Lucy Wall" of large stones. It's where the gray- and blackwater is purified underground, and fed through a drip irrigation sysytem. Already some rather large "volunteer plants" have made their home there, enjoying the moisture from the irrigation system. This morning, Azrael and I planted 27
