DESCRIPTION:September 30\, 2024 \nRowan has been doing some research for next spring’s class\, The History of Witchcraft and has come across a very interesting book\, Witchcraft: A  History in Thirteen Trials\, by Marion Gibson\, Rose Akroyd et al. \nFrom the Amazon review: \n“Exploring how witchcraft was feared\, then decriminalized\, and then reimagined as gendered persecution\, Witchcraft takes on the intersections between gender and power\, indigenous spirituality and colonial rule\, political conspiracy and individual resistance. \nOffering a striking\, dramatic journey unspooling over centuries and across continents\, Witchcraft is a “well-rounded insight into some of the strangest and cruelest moments in history” (Buzz Magazine)\, giving voice to those who have been silenced by history.” \nCome join Rowan for an interesting discussion of several of the lesser known witch trials in Europe and the Americas\, and new insights into some of the famous ones. \nRowan has been active in the pagan community of northern New Mexico for over 35 years. She is a third degree initiate of the Ladywoods tradition and currently serves as the Dean of the School of Magick and Witchcraft at Ardantane. In her mundane life\, she holds a BS in education from UT El Paso\, and an MBA from UNM. She has taught at festivals in New Mexico and Colorado and nationally\, but enjoys teaching at Ardantane the most. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.
