SUMMARY:Volunteer Work Day October
DESCRIPTION:Contribute your energy\, time\, and talents to the upkeep of our beautiful campus near Jemez Springs\, New Mexico. We work from 8:00 or 9:00 AM\, depending on the season… starting earlier in summer\, later in winter. We begin with a simple opening ceremony\, and end sometime in the afternoon\, usually around 4:00 PM—but you can come at any time during the day. (Some folks do special projects at other times\, to fit their personal schedules\, by arrangement with the Director.)  \nVolunteers who work a “full” day—six hours or more—receive $40 in Beaver Bucks (applicable to any Ardantane event fee). Those who work 3-4 hours receive $20 in Beaver Bucks. First-timers are awarded the Blessed Beaver patch (embroidered emblem) to wear proudly on a cap or work shirt. Everyone receives free lunch and beverages\, as well as healthy exercise and camaraderie.  \nBring your sun hat and work gloves (we have loaners if you need them).  \nContact Azrael Arryn K at azraelak@gmail.com for directions and information. DESCRIPTION:DATE CHANGED TO OCTOBER 12\nFrom the island of Crete\, to Britain\, to Norway and the American Southwest\, humans have created labyrinths for millennia. Now you can help build one too! Join us at Ardantane’s Labyrinth Day on Saturday\, October 5 from 9am to 4 pm at the Ardantane Campus NW of Albuquerque. \nTogether we’ll explore the history and uses of labyrinths around the world\, and how to design and draw one. Then we’ll actually build one: Ardantane’s third\, in a unique design different from our first two. \nThe event is FREE of charge\, and open to all adults\, and teens accompanied by parents.  \nThe schedule includes a workshop first thing; then we’ll move stones to the site and draw the design on the ground. After a lunch break\, we’ll place stones to mark the path\, then have a short ritual of dedication. Then… walk the new labyrinth and\, if you wish\, share your experience over a cold drink! \nEvery participant gets a free labyrinth emblem. \nThe lunch is potluck: bring a dish to share! During the rest of the day\, refreshments and beverages will be provided by Ardantane. We have work gloves to loan. Please bring a sun hat and folding chair\, if you have one. \nThough there is no charge\, for planning purposes we would love to know how many are coming.
