SUMMARY:How Does Death Look to You?
DESCRIPTION:Carl Jung said much about death and dying\, in this seminar we will consider his assertion that every person “ought to have a myth about death\, for reason shows [one] nothing but the dark pit into which he is descending.” What is a myth about death? Do we acquire it? Create it? Why? How? What does death look like to you? \nWe will explore our feelings of fear\, and/or comfort with death. We will wonder about the death culture we grew up with\, and the one we practice now. Metaphors around the concepts of death\, dying and the afterlife will be examined and parsed. Who our helpers are or may be as we move from life to death will also be shared and explored. Join Moonbeam Mage as we aspire to realize a myth that will allow a life in alignment with our instincts around death and dying\, rather than in opposition to them. \nAmber K is a third degree priestess of the Wiccan faith. She was initiated at the Temple of the Pagan Way in Chicago and served on the Council of Elders there. Her books on magick and the Craft have been widely circulated in the United States and Europe\, and for nearly 25 years she has traveled across the U.S. teaching the Craft. She has worked with Circle and the Re-Formed Congregation of the Goddess\, and served as National First Officer of the Covenant of the Goddess for three terms. She is a founder of Our Lady of the Woods and the Ladywood Tradition of Wicca\, and currently is Executive Director of Ardantane\, a Wiccan/Pagan seminary is northern New Mexico. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.  Others must register below. DESCRIPTION:We have grappled with the concept of ‘spirituality.’ In this seminar we take on the concept of ‘P/pagan.’ What does the word mean to you? How do you define or explain being Pagan\, or a Pagan? Is Pagan only one of the collection of modern\, mostly Western European practices and belief systems included in a list such as: Wiccan\, Asatru\, Druid\, Heathen\, and so on? Is it more complex than that? More widespread?
