They not only visited castles\, museums\, and caverns\, but met with some of the Elders of the Old Faiths in Slovenia. She was worshiped from Mesopotamia to the Mediterranean and appears in the mythological texts written on cuneiform tablets from Sumer (3500-1900 B.C.)\, the Akkadian empire (2334-2154 B.C.)\, the Assyrians (2500–609 B.C.)\, the Hittites (1750-1650 B.C.)\, Egypt\, Israel\, and Judah.  \nLora Jackson Legare has been a practicing Wiccan for 35 years. She is a professional archaeologist\, professor of anthropology\, artist and writer. She has led numerous public rituals in southern New Mexico and conducted workshops and classes on developing connections with Celtic Goddesses and Gods\, stone magick\, and magickal correspondences\, and led many guided meditations. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. DESCRIPTION:Ancient Pagan temples were often very different from today’s mainstream-faith churches\, mosques\, synagogues. They were places to learn the Mysteries\, sacrifice to the old gods\, and even meet deity face-to-face. They also served as sanctuaries\, libraries\, and even treasuries. To modern Pagans accustomed to meeting in living rooms or backyards\, they often seem vast and otherworldly.  We will explore temples from the first known\, Gobekli Tepe in Anatolia\, to the Wat Samphran Dragon Temple\, the London Mithraeum\, a Norse God House\, and many more. You might even be inspired to build your own small temple! \nAmber K has been a Wiccan priestess for 45 years\, and loves to study the ancient Pagan faiths. \n\nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. DESCRIPTION:This is a special day for anyone who trains or teaches others\, in person or online. Some of Ardantane’s very best\, most experienced faculty will share techniques for creating great learning experiences. Among many topics: Where to Begin Class Design; The Importance of Hooks; Teaching to Three Levels of Self\, Participatory and Experiential Learning Activities; Sensing and Using Energy; Working with Visual\, Auditory\, and Kinesthetic Learners; Beyond Knowledge to Skills and Attitudes\, and Behaviors; and much\, much more. Led by Amber K\, who spent her career as a trainer for many government agencies and corporate entities\, she always aims to make courses fun\, student-centered\, and informative. \nThis is an all day program\, starting at 9AM and ending at 5PM. with a break for lunch. \nOne past student said\, “I have a Master’s in Teaching\, but learned more from this class about HOW to teach than I ever did in school!” \nREGISTER BELOW.
