DESCRIPTION:Does your home support you in all you want to be\, do\, have\, and offer? \nIf not\, why not\, and what do you need to change in your home for it to support you in these? \nMany other courses exist that focus on you changing yourself; in these five weeks we’ll focus on changing your most intimate surroundings: your home. \nOur Question: how can you change your home to become a more sacred space? \n“A sacred home gets out of the way of your connection with divinity. It makes your connection easier\, even constant. It brings awareness of the divine into your daily life… Helps me be wholly me\, holy me\, holding me.” \nAzrael has a Master’s in Architecture\, and began her fascination with homes as a child\, drawing houses and house plans. As a Wiccan priestess for 30 years\, she brings the Sacred to all aspects of life\, including homes. SUMMARY:Take Back the Night: Pagan Skies
DESCRIPTION:The constellations that we are taught about in Western culture and which are used in Western astrology are an amalgam of Greek\, Roman\, Arabic\, and Latin influences which were recognized by colonial powers and represent the Northern hemisphere. The constellations that came to be used in the Southern hemisphere are largely a display of the scientific achievements of European colonial powers and some wildlife they found interesting. Both entirely ignore the sky cultures of indigenous people around the world. In the late 16th and early 17th century attempts were made by several astronomers who were Christian clergy to completely erase the sky and replace it with an entirely Christian sky. This didn’t succeed partially because the various clergy involved could not agree on the elements of these skies and partially because the principal astronomers of the day were busy creating constellations in honor of their royal sponsors. Colonial powers created systems such as the Residential Schools which partnered with the church to eliminate indigenous language and culture\, resulting in many sky cultures being lost\, in some cases permanently.\n\nWe know that the ancestors of our Heathen brothers and sisters were great navigators yet due to this corrosive colonial activity much of their sky lore has been lost. It is also growing as ethnoastronomers and researchers investigate old records and interview elders and recover previously lost sky cultures. The World Asterisms Project has so far examined over 580 of the world’s cultures and recorded 15\,229 asterisms and 1\,633 names of the Sun\, Moon\, and Planets.\nKerr Cuhulain is the Grand Master and founder of a Wiccan order of Knighthood called the Order of Paladins\, now based in Sechelt\, British Columbia. SUMMARY:The Witch Trials in Abiquiu\, NM
DESCRIPTION:A little-studied witchcraft trial took place at Abiquiu\, New Mexico\, between 1756 and 1766.  The witchcraft outbreak took place less than a century after the Pueblo Revolt and symbolized a resistance by the Genízaros (hispanicized Indians) of Abiquiu to forced Christianization. In this seminar we will briefly cast an academic gaze over the broad scope of Bardic history and lore in diverse civilizations. We will then begin to explore the manifestation of the Bardic tradition in our Pagan and Wiccan communities\, our circles and rituals\, and our festivals of the seasons. She is a third degree initiate of the Ladywoods tradition and currently serves as the Dean of the School of Magick and Witchcraft at Ardantane. In this workshop\, we will delve into practices that honor the Earth as a living entity and seek to restore balance and harmony on our beloved planet. \nAmber K is a third degree priestess of the Wiccan faith. She was initiated at the Temple of the Pagan Way in Chicago and served on the Council of Elders there. Her books on magick and the Craft have been widely circulated in the United States and Europe\, and for 35 years she has traveled across the U.S. teaching the Craft. She has worked with Circle and the Re-Formed Congregation of the Goddess\, and served as National First Officer of the Covenant of the Goddess for three terms.
