DESCRIPTION:Carl Jung said much about death and dying\, in this seminar we will consider his assertion that every person “ought to have a myth about death\, for reason shows [one] nothing but the dark pit into which he is descending.” What is a myth about death? Do we acquire it? Create it? Why? How? What does death look like to you? \nWe will explore our feelings of fear\, and/or comfort with death. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Ardantane’s School of Pagan Spirituality! In this course you will have the opportunity to discover the breadth and depth of Pagan Spirituality around the world and across time. DESCRIPTION:If you’ve been active in the Craft for more than 15 minutes\, you are familiar with the myth of Demeter and Prosephone.  Their story is often used as the basis for equinox rituals at Ostara and Mabon.  But this ancient goddess has many other faces and indeed\, Persephone was not her only child.  She was one of the twelve Olympians\, elder sister to Hades\, Zeus and Poseidon\, and is believed to have played a key role in the Eleusinian Mysteries\, one of the best kept secrets of antiquity.  \nRowan first met Demeter on the pages of Edith Hamilton’s classic Mythology as a teen.  She has long felt a deep connection with the ancient Goddess of the harvest\, agriculture\, health and birth.  Overprotective mother is far from her only role. DESCRIPTION:The Pagan spiritual year is based upon our agrarian ancestor’s observations of the cycles of the sun and earth. We celebrate the landmarks of those cycles with our Sabbat celebrations. This Fireside Seminar will review what the major stations of the wheel are\, not for celebration purposes\, but rather to find how we can integrate the lessons and energies of the cycle into our lives. \nPolaris is a third degree Wiccan Priestess in the Ladywoods Tradition and a Magister in the Order of Paladins. She has been drawn to the natural cycles of the world from a young age and a practicing Pagan since the early 1990s. SUMMARY:Is Your Magickal Glass Half Empty or Half Full? Part I
DESCRIPTION:In the second of the continuing 2023 Moon Series presented by Colorado Witches\, Lydia Smith and D Garret will explore the magickal workings best done at a quarter moon.  Witches often do magicK on the new and full moons\, but the quarter moon provides powerful Moon energy also. The Quarter Moon shows only half Her face – is the magickal glass half empty or full?  D and Lydia will help us to learn how we can use this time of balance with Moon energy to assist and empower us.  As a bonus\, in the Autumn\, Lydia and D will do another unique presentation on the corresponding waxing quarter moon\, giving us true balance for this 2023 Moon Series.  \nLydia Smith has a BA in Religion. She has been the high priestess of the Sisters of the Turquoise Moon Coven for 25 years.  She is a licensed facilitator of the World Groove Movement. She has taught movement as prayer and also performance skills for rituals at workshops and at UU Churches. She is the creator and designer for VIXENFringe\, upcycling clothing to provide an alternative to fast fashion. She has also been a palm reader for over 40 years.  Her creations can be seen here: https://linktr.ee/vixenfringe \nD Garrett\, Sister Sol Stardust is a 3rd degrees eclectic Wiccan Priestess and Witch.  She has co-led rituals at Earth Temple\, and Hearthstone\, Dragonfest\, and Beltania and private rituals in her home.  She prefers simple and highly focused rituals.  D is adept and practiced in curios\, oracle card reading\, pendulum\, mirror\, and water scrying.  She is a full-time visual artist\, tinkerer\, and muralist\, painting and crafting with magical intention matching her clients’ visions.  D led a series of workshops in 2021 called Socially Crafted Witches Hour and other workshops at Denver Pagan Pride and Dark Goddess festivals. In her rituals and workshops\, safe space is created\, and maintained for participants to express themselves\, prioritizing acceptance\, and inclusion\, hoping that some are able to open to their unseen allies\, always encouraging them to remember our intention and that our intention resides and is present in the work. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. DESCRIPTION:Join Rowan and Lora for a discussion of The Broom Closet \nTo kick things off\, Rowan will share a fun quiz to help you determine if you are in or out of the Broom Closet\, and discuss where you want to be on the delicate issue of how\, or if\, to be a public witch.  As with many things in the craft\, there is no right answer\, only thoughtful alternatives. \nLora Jackson has been a practicing Wiccan for 35 years. She is a professional archaeologist\, professor of anthropology\, artist and writer. She has led numerous public rituals in southern New Mexico and conducted workshops and classes on developing connections with Celtic Goddesses and Gods\, stone magick\, and magickal correspondences\, and led many guided meditations. \nRowan has been active in the pagan community of northern New Mexico for over 35 years.  She is a third degree initiate of the Ladywoods tradition and currently serves as the Dean of the School of Magick and Witchcraft at Ardantane.  In her mundane life\, she holds a BS in education from UT El Paso\, and an MBA from UNM.  She has taught at festivals in New Mexico and Colorado and nationally\, but enjoys teaching at Ardantane the most. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.
