DESCRIPTION:Why do so many Neo Pagans consider themselves Celtic Pagans? Join us for an evening where we explore topics that help us understand the influence of the Celts on Paganism today. We will look at topics like the ancient Irish Celts\, Patrick and the coming of Christianity\, and Irish Celtic stories. \nLarissa Gibbs has been a practicing neo-pagan since she was a teenager. She did a self dedication at the age of 16 and has never looked back. Over the years\, Larissa has practiced as a solitary pagan\, as well as worked with two covens\, and with her family coven. She was the coordinator for the children’s realm of the Las Cruces Pagan Pride Day event for maybe five years. In 2011\, she became one of the founding members of Desert Spirit CUUPS at the Las Cruces New Mexico Unitarian Universalist Church where she continues to serve as ritual coordinator. She is also a longstanding member and contributor to the Las Cruces-based\, women’s spirituality group\, Moonsisters. \nLarissa has a BS in biology\, worked as a research biologist for 10 years and now teaches high school biology. She finds that one of the most profound truths in biology is the universal genetic code of life. Scientifically we know that all life is genetically related\, spiritually we can feel at one with all life on Earth. DESCRIPTION:What are Sheela Na Gigs\, when and where were they placed? Were they obscene or were they goddesses? Let’s examine the history of these fascinating figures\, astronomical symbolism\, their cultural and archaeological significance\, and where they are now. \nLarissa Gibbs has been a practicing neo-pagan since she was a teenager. She did a self dedication at the age of 16 and has never looked back. Over the years\, Larissa has practiced as a solitary pagan\, as well as worked with two covens\, and with her family coven. She was the coordinator for the children’s realm of the Las Cruces Pagan Pride Day event for maybe five years. In 2011\, she became one of the founding members of Desert Spirit CUUPS at the Las Cruces New Mexico Unitarian Universalist Church where she continues to serve as ritual coordinator. She is also a longstanding member and contributor to the Las Cruces-based\, women’s spirituality group\, Moonsisters.  \nLarissa has a BS in biology\, worked as a research biologist for 10 years and now teaches high school biology. She finds that one of the most profound truths in biology is the universal genetic code of life. Scientifically we know that all life is genetically related\, spiritually we can feel at one with all life on Earth. Larissa also looks to history and archaeology to understand past and present human belief systems. Marija Gimbutas’ work with neolithic and Mesolithic imagery and megalithic mounds is very informative for Larissa as well. Just how much nutmeg is a fatal dose? How many apple seeds give you a fatal dose of cyanide? \nEmber will answer these questions\, and others\, while also providing information about which common ornamentals are toxic\, what medicinal plants require caution\, and she includes some antidotes as well as bonus material on other poisons. \nWhile the focus is on identifying poisonous plants so you don’t harm yourself or others\, Ember will also offer a brief introduction to the magickal correspondences found along the poison path. \nEmber has had a special interest in plants and herbal medicine all of her life. DESCRIPTION:This four part class offers overviews of four different types of Divination\, taught by subject matter matter from the Ardantane faculty and staff. \nTarot Cards and Messages from the Deep\nAmber K –  What are Tarot cards\, and where did they come from? How can we use their mysterious images to understand our lives and make better choices for ourselves? Learn about the three major methods of interpretation (psychic\, book-oriented\, and gestalt) and their strengths and weaknesses. Find out how to choose a deck you’ll love\, from the hundreds of designs available; and how to create or choose a spread (pattern)\, from the very simple to the more complex. \nAmber K is a published author\, prolific teacher and the director of Ardantane.  She has been active in the pagan community for over 45 years and is a third degree initate and founder of the Ladywood tradition of Wicca. SUMMARY:Dark Moon
DESCRIPTION:The dark moon is a time to reflect\, delve into the dark of our unconscious\, and observe ourselves with greater clarity. For many witches\, this is a very different time than that of the new moon. This evening we will explore the time when the moon is dark but it is not yet new.  Wellyssa will guide and lead us to “let that stuff go”\, shed ourselves of what does not serve us\, and how we can evaluate the previous moon cycle and fully prepare for the next.  \nWellyssa Spellsong I am an energy healer\, psychic intuitive\, Wiccan High Priestess and teacher. I provide energy healing\, chakra and aura clearing\, emotional healing/clearing\, past life regression\, soul retrieval\, and akashic records journeying. I also read the bones and oracle cards and do house clearings. During healing work\, I look into the body and both see and feel where there is pain\, fatigue\, stuck energy\, or emotional trauma which has rooted itself within the body and needs to be released. I provide healing using various modalities such as energy\, sound vibration and crystals. For PLR\, Soul Retrieval and akashic records works I work with you in a state of trance to seek answers to your questions. I can also design powerful rituals\, mantras or affirmations to help you achieve your goals and desires. I enjoy teaching the client how to do their own work and healing. My path is deeply sacred.
