SUMMARY:Survey of Pagan Spirituality: Course 100
DESCRIPTION:THIS COURSE RUNS FOR 4 WEEKS\, TUESDAYS IN MAY STARTING MAY 5TH. \nHave you ever wondered what spirituality is? How it is defined? What makes you a spiritual person? And\, more specifically\, what is Pagan Spirituality? Labels help define our state of Being to the world\, but actually show nothing about who we really are. The objective here is learning to let our LIGHT shine without the need of labels. \nBy developing a vocabulary\, continuity is established. \nClass 101\, Spirituality: In this first class we will walk thru the world of what being spiritual means\, and\, most importantly\, how spirituality is relevant in your life. \n102 will survey how beliefs and practices around the world and through time have influenced us not only in our spiritual lives\, but also shaped the larger culture in which we participate. \n103 (Survey of surviving Pagan traditions\, NeoPagan\, and related spiritualities?) and 104 (probably Cosmologies: How the Universe works\, and our place in it) are still in flux\, and will be announced in the March Herald. \nThe course fee is $80 for Ardantane Members\, and $100 for non-members. Register below by clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. Beaver Bucks are welcome! Please contact us at info@ardantane.org if you would like to use Beaver Bucks. \nRegistration closes Sunday May 3th at 5 pm MT. \nGet Tickets

SUMMARY:Identifying Poisonous Plants: How to Avoid Poisoning Yourself or Others
DESCRIPTION:Can you tell the difference between Queen Anne’s Lace and poison hemlock? Should you be concerned if your neighbor’s toddler nibbles on the Lily of the Valley growing in your yard? Just how much nutmeg is a fatal dose? How many apple seeds give you a fatal dose of cyanide? \nEmber will answer these questions\, and others\, while also providing information about which common ornamentals are toxic\, what medicinal plants require caution\, and she includes some antidotes as well as bonus material on other poisons. \nWhile the focus is on identifying poisonous plants so you don’t harm yourself or others\, Ember will also offer a brief introduction to the magickal correspondences found along the poison path. \nEmber has had a special interest in plants and herbal medicine all of her life. It started with her five-year-old self eating dandelions and tasting milkweed. Important reminder: supervise your children! Since then\, she has spent the past 50 years studying medicinal herbs\, making salves and tinctures\, and identifying as many plants as she can. \n\nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.  Others must register below by clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. The fee is $10. \n\n\nRegistration closes at 5PM Mountain Time on Thursday\, May 7th. \nGet Tickets

SUMMARY:The Goddess Freya
DESCRIPTION:The Goddess Freya is widely known as the Norse Goddess of sex\, love\, fertility\, and war\, riding on her chariot pulled by cats. But Freya is no Aphrodite. She rivals Odin in magickal knowledge and even chooses half his dead warriors from the battlefield to come to her eternal fields of Folkvangr. Join this Freya’s Day Fireside Seminar to explore this intriguing–and sometimes even controversial—goddess in her many aspects. \nTara Kiene (she/her) is an active Ardantane student\, teacher. She’s a member of the Colorado Crow Women coven when she isn’t strumming her ukulele\, belly dancing or playing with her pet rabbits. \n\nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.  Others must register below by clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. SUMMARY:Pagan Chant
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand! Join the murder of Crow Women in this fun evening of pagan chant. We’ll teach a few chants and all sing “together” in a circle of song. Don’t worry—you’ll get to stay muted (otherwise the gods of internet bandwidth will wreak havoc on our timing)\, so whether or not you are confident in your voice\, you can enjoy singing along to these easy-to-learn chants and hopefully sink into that sacred space where only song can take us. \nThe Crow Women is a Goddess-centered coven that has been circling together for 31 years. Along the way\, they decided to take their love of pagan song and chant and transform it into a service to the pagan community. Crow Women have released 4 albums (three of which contain entirely their own compositions). Learn more about their work and other enticing tidbits about pagan song at (you guessed it!) pagansong.com. \n\nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.  Others must register below by clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. SUMMARY:Who Are You? Archetypes with Amber K
DESCRIPTION:Carl Jung said that “Your vision will become clear when you can look into your own heart… who looks inside\, awakes.” \nOne way of seeing yourself involves understanding archetypes\, Jung’s concept of universal character types rooted in the collective unconscious. These include the Hero\, the Shadow\, the Mentor or Wise Guide\, the Trickster\, and many others. Let’s find out which of the archetypes best describe you\, and which ones you might aspire to become. We will combine myth\, psychology\, meditation\, and humor to explore ourselves and perhaps move forward in our spiritual growth and understanding. \nAmber is a Wiccan priestess with 47 years’ experience\, the author or co-author of several books on the Craft\, and the Executive Director of Ardantane. \n\nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.  Others must register below by clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. SUMMARY:Hoarding and Stuff
DESCRIPTION:We pagans sure do like our toys\, books\, costumes and whatnot. Yet we know that all we really need to do effective work is our mind and body. Why\, then\, do we surround ourselves with more than we need? Join two committed declutters to learn about the practical and psychological reasons why it is so hard to release what we no longer need or use\, how to release it ethically and more. \nSterling has a BA in Psychology for the University of Colorado Denver and a MS in Occupational Health and Safety from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She also has extensive Master’s work in cognitive behavior\, addiction recovery and psychological counseling. Aside from studying and practicing Wicca\, Sterling is an accomplished horticulturalist with credentials from the American Rose Society (judge and consulting rosarian). She is an active amateur musician\, playing piccolo\, flute and alto flute. If she has any time left in her day\, she is dabbling in herbology or in some art project; tie dying fabric goods\, painting\, jewelry\, paper and metal craft. Sterling lives in Bloomfield\, CO with her husband Jerry\, and their pets…never a dull moment in their home. \nRowan has been active in the pagan community of northern New Mexico for over 35 years. She is a third degree initiate of the Ladywoods tradition and currently serves as the Dean of the School of Magick and Witchcraft at Ardantane. In her mundane life\, she holds a BS in education from UT El Paso\, and an MBA from UNM. She has taught at festivals in New Mexico and Colorado and nationally\, but enjoys teaching at Ardantane the most. \n\nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.  Others must register below by clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. SUMMARY:Witchy in the Dark
DESCRIPTION:“Hello darkness\, my old friend….” Darkness is the essential partner to Light\, a deep treasure cavern of mystery\, dreams\, and the silent birthplace of creation. Yet so many people fear the dark. We can move from these atavistic fears of “things that go bump in the night” and make friends with the darkness\, enriching our spiritual journeys as we cast open the doors to the other half of the universe! We can be not only Warriors of the Light\, but Creatures of the Night. Why and how: join the discussion. \nAmber K and Azrael Arynn K are priestesses of the Wiccan faith\, as well as authors and teachers. They have more than 75 years of combined experience as clergy. They are fascinated by the technology of the sacred—how magick works—and how to share this in ritual design and through their teaching. Amber was initiated at the Temple of the Pagan Way in Chicago in 1978\, and is co-founder of the Ladywood Tradition of Wicca. She served three terms as National First Officer of Covenant of the Goddess\, the largest federation of Witches’ covens and solitary Witches. Azrael Arynn K is a celebrated author\, teacher\, ritualist\, and leader within the Pagan community. She has degrees in criminal justice\, law\, and architecture. They were handfasted in 1994\, were married a few years later\, and live and work together at Ardantane Pagan school and retreat center in northern New Mexico. Currently Amber is Executive Director and Dean of the School of Pagan Leadership\, while Azrael is Dean of the School of Sacred Living and Director of Facilities. See ardantane.org. Amber K is the author of True Magick: A Beginner’s Guide\, and Stone Witchery and Divination\, among others. Azrael designs\, co-authors\, and edits books with Amber\, including the award-winning books RitualCraft: Creating Rites for Transformation and Celebration; and Pinups Portraits and Posters: The Life and Art of Bill Randall (Amber’s dad).
