SUMMARY:Artificial Intelligence and Paganism
DESCRIPTION:The talk will be basically two parts. First\, understanding what generative AI is and how it works. This can be a complicated process of using labeled data to train the generative AI bot.\n\nSecond\, what is the impact of generative AI on our society and Paganism\, in particular. There will be major impacts\, but these are not yet known.\n\nPagans range from Technopagans\, who love all new technologies\, to Pastoral Pagans\, who long to return to a simple less technical rural life style.\n\nMost of us are in between these two extremes. We drive cars and use the web\, but do not worship technology.\n\n\nMerlyn is retired\, widowed and living in Albuquerque. He is a third degree initiate in OLW and Ladywood Tradition. Meryl retired from LANL where he worked for 9 years and as a contractor for 12 years. He has a Ph.D Biology and enjoys e-biking\, reading ebooks and web surfing.\n\nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. Be sure to add the number of tickets you want before clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. The fee is $10. \nRegistration closes at 5PM Mountain Time on Thursday\, April 4th.

SUMMARY:Isis and Osiris
DESCRIPTION:The story of Isis and Osiris is an ancient myth about love conquering all\, about jealousy and betrayal\, about civilization and order in opposition to chaos. However\, the central theme in this story is about not only the death and resurrection of a God\, but also about the Divine Feminine who resurrects him\, and the Divine Mother giving birth to Horus\, the Divine Child. Long before Jesus\, Mary\, and Joseph\, they are the archetype of the Holy Family. \nLora Jackson Legare has been a practicing Wiccan for 35 years. She is a professional archaeologist\, professor of anthropology\, artist and writer. She has led numerous public rituals in southern New Mexico and conducted workshops and classes on developing connections with Celtic Goddesses and Gods\, stone magick\, and magickal correspondences\, and led many guided meditations. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. Be sure to add the number of tickets you want before clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. The fee is $10. \nRegistration closes at 5PM Mountain Time on Thursday\, March 21st.

SUMMARY:Ostara Spring Equinox Online Ritual
DESCRIPTION:Blessings of the Vernal Equinox! \nJoin us in Celebration! \nThe Vernal Equinox\, Spring Equinox or Ostara as it is more frequently called in modern times\, is one of the Sabbats on the Pagan Wheel of the Year as we celebrate it in these times. Its name – Equinox – enlightens us immediately as to the wisdom we may find in its observance. Equinox\, equal\, implying balance. In our ritual celebration\, we will honor that traditional essence. As well\, the descriptor\, vernal explains: this is the point on the Wheel where birth and beginnings of all kinds are evident. Creation\, creativity\, newness\, these we expect and seek in the Spring. Our ritual will open us to these urges. \nThe Earth Mother is the core of the Wheel\, the spindle upon which it turns. Our ritual will call upon Her and Her sky companion\, Venus. Venus in Her reign as planetary goddess of love and Greco/Roman\, Venus/Aphrodite goddess of love. We will discover the boon She offers at the time of these new beginnings and how we might invite Her support in our endeavors. \nBalance\, beginnings\, living and loving! \nWe will celebrate Blessings of the Vernal Equinox! \nMoonbeam Mage caught a glimpse of the path that might be some twenty-five years ago. Fifteen years ago she heard herself asserting that she was on that path\, and has solidly placed one foot after the other upon it since. In 2010 she found Ardantane and began her pursuit of all that formal training in the Craft could offer. In 2014\, she received the Ardantane Level Three\, Master of Magick and Witchcraft Certificate. She is also a third degree initiate of the Ladywood tradition of the Craft. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. Be sure to add the number of tickets you want before clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. The fee is $10. \nRegistration closes at 5PM Mountain Time on Thursday\, March 14th.

SUMMARY:The Winds of Spring
DESCRIPTION:Following a spiritual path based upon nature involves living with the seasons. Each has its own energy flows\, and when we pay attention to them\, we can work with the prevailing energy rather than against it. This is the first in a series of four seasonal energy Fireside Chats and will focus on the natural flows of Spring. \nPolaris is a third degree Wiccan Priestess in the Ladywoods Tradition and a Magister in the Order of Paladins. She has been drawn to the natural cycles of the world from a young age and a practicing Pagan since the early 1990s. As a business consultant in the mundane world\, she integrates the natural cyclical energies into her work with clients\, helping them utilize the prevailing energies and work with those flows rather than struggling against them. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. Be sure to add the number of tickets you want before clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. SUMMARY:McMartin Preschool Case
DESCRIPTION:The McMartin Preschool Case took place at the height of the Satanic Panic of the 1980’s and was the most expensive trial ever conducted by the State of California. Outlandish claims of Satanic rituals\, child sacrifice and secret tunnels not only drove McMartin’s preschool out of business\, it sent several innocent people to prison and traumatized more than one of the children involved. SUMMARY:The Roots of Celtic Neopaganism: How The Irish Saved Civilization
DESCRIPTION:Why do so many Neo Pagans consider themselves Celtic Pagans? Join us for an evening where we explore topics that help us understand the influence of the Celts on Paganism today. We will look at topics like the ancient Irish Celts\, Patrick and the coming of Christianity\, and Irish Celtic stories. \nLarissa Gibbs has been a practicing neo-pagan since she was a teenager. She did a self dedication at the age of 16 and has never looked back. Over the years\, Larissa has practiced as a solitary pagan\, as well as worked with two covens\, and with her family coven. She was the coordinator for the children’s realm of the Las Cruces Pagan Pride Day event for maybe five years. In 2011\, she became one of the founding members of Desert Spirit CUUPS at the Las Cruces New Mexico Unitarian Universalist Church where she continues to serve as ritual coordinator. She is also a longstanding member and contributor to the Las Cruces-based\, women’s spirituality group\, Moonsisters. \nLarissa has a BS in biology\, worked as a research biologist for 10 years and now teaches high school biology. She finds that one of the most profound truths in biology is the universal genetic code of life. Scientifically we know that all life is genetically related\, spiritually we can feel at one with all life on Earth. Larissa also looks to history and archaeology to understand past and present human belief systems. Marija Gimbutas’ work with neolithic and Mesolithic imagery and megalithic mounds is very informative for Larissa as well. Larissa feels that science informs our world view and paganism gives us a way to contextualize our place in the world. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. Be sure to add the number of tickets you want before clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. The fee is $10. \nRegistration closes at 5PM Mountain Time on Thursday\, February 15th.

SUMMARY:Coyote Tales
DESCRIPTION:A coyote is the American “song dog” who has spread all over the United States and beyond; but Coyote\, or Old Man Coyote\, is a teacher\, trickster\, and culture hero of the American Southwest. Several Native American tribes tell his stories\, depicting Coyote as wise\, curious\, bawdy\, adventurous\, reckless\, and sometimes devious. Amber is not Native American\, and cannot provide any special tribal understanding of this enigmatic figure. She can only share some of the stories and her individual perspective\, from having studied and worked with Coyote for several years. But she believes he has a lot to teach to anyone of any culture\, if we are ready to listen. \nAmber K is a third degree priestess of the Wiccan faith. SUMMARY:Embracing Our Bodies
DESCRIPTION:How is relationship with your body – your partner for life?  What do you enjoy about your body? What things do you find challenging? Aging is inevitable\, so our future will likely bring more challenges. Tired of platitudes? Come spend quality time with your body\, as we learn from our bodies and each other\, and likely come away with some new insights. We’ll do some journaling\, so please have pen and paper handy and some space to stand and move. \nOne of the many things Dr Jude Harrison\, MD appreciates about Pagan Spirituality is inclusion and celebration of our bodies and our sexuality. He’s been privileged to work with people and their bodies from the first week of medical school to retirement 56 years later. After completing a four-year experiential certification training and supervision through the Center for Mind Body Medicine he led body centered mind-body skills groups with his patients for 6 years while group movement space was still available in his office.  Jude’s lived in his body for 70 years. Gender transition at age 60 brought some interesting facets to his own relationship with his body. \n  \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. Be sure to add the number of tickets you want before clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. The fee is $10. \nRegistration closes at 5PM Mountain Time on Thursday\, December 7th.
