SUMMARY:Enter at Your Own Risk: The Lore and Magick of Doors and Entryways
DESCRIPTION:Long ago our ancestors lived in trees or caves\, and had no doors. Now they’re everywhere\, and surrounded by legends\, magick\, custom and tradition. They can lock things out\, let people in\, or offer tantalizing glimpses of unfamiliar cultures and worlds. Let’s look at a selection of doors around the world and glean their messages; and let’s explore their stories and traditions\, from Jewish mezuzahs to the Gaelic first-foot to Greek squill onions and Danish dish-throwing. Amber K created this a-door-able program to share with you. Walk right in. \nAmber K is a third degree priestess of the Wiccan faith. She was initiated at the Temple of the Pagan Way in Chicago and served on the Council of Elders there. Her books on magick and the Craft have been widely circulated in the United States and Europe\, and for 35 years she has traveled across the U.S. teaching the Craft. She has worked with Circle and the Re-Formed Congregation of the Goddess\, and served as National First Officer of the Covenant of the Goddess for three terms. DESCRIPTION:Contribute your energy\, time\, and talents to the upkeep of our beautiful campus near Jemez Springs\, New Mexico. We work from 8:00 or 9:00 AM\, depending on the season… starting earlier in summer\, later in winter. We begin with a simple opening ceremony\, and end sometime in the afternoon\, usually around 4:00 PM—but you can come at any time during the day. (Some folks do special projects at other times\, to fit their personal schedules\, by arrangement with the Director.)  \nVolunteers who work a “full” day—six hours or more—receive $40 in Beaver Bucks (applicable to any Ardantane event fee). Those who work 3-4 hours receive $20 in Beaver Bucks. First-timers are awarded the Blessed Beaver patch (embroidered emblem) to wear proudly on a cap or work shirt. SUMMARY:Beltane Online Ritual 2025
DESCRIPTION:Beltane or Bealtaine is the Celtic May Day festival celebrated by modern pagans as one of our main Sabbats. Falling at a point midway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice\, Beltane festivities often focus on fire\, fertility\, and community. We will spend the evening with a quick overview of Beltane traditions and then delve into our own online version of a Beltane ritual\, celebrated together across space and time as our ancestors could surely could never have imagined. \n Lora Jackson Legare has been a practicing Wiccan for 35 years. She is a professional archaeologist\, professor of anthropology\, artist and writer. She has led numerous public rituals in southern New Mexico and conducted workshops and classes on developing connections with Celtic Goddesses and Gods\, stone magick\, and magickal correspondences\, and led many guided meditations. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. DESCRIPTION:Contribute your energy\, time\, and talents to the upkeep of our beautiful campus near Jemez Springs\, New Mexico. We work from 8:00 or 9:00 AM\, depending on the season… starting earlier in summer\, later in winter. We begin with a simple opening ceremony\, and end sometime in the afternoon\, usually around 4:00 PM—but you can come at any time during the day. (Some folks do special projects at other times\, to fit their personal schedules\, by arrangement with the Director.)  \nVolunteers who work a “full” day—six hours or more—receive $40 in Beaver Bucks (applicable to any Ardantane event fee). Those who work 3-4 hours receive $20 in Beaver Bucks. First-timers are awarded the Blessed Beaver patch (embroidered emblem) to wear proudly on a cap or work shirt. DESCRIPTION:Our Lady of Guadalupe: Southwestern Goddess: Rowan will explain the relationship between Guadalupe and the Aztec mother Goddess\, Tonantzin. Was the incident that established Guadalupe as the Goddess of the Americas a typical Marion apparition\, or was it something more?  Is the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City built on what was previously an undistinguished site\, or was it\, like many churches in Europe\, built on a an ancient shrine to a native Goddess? \nAccording to traditions\, the Virgin appeared to a Nahua man named Juan Diego in December 1531 on Tepeyac Hill\, north of Mexico City\, where there was a shrine dedicated to the female Aztec earth deity Tonatzin.  To this day\, in Nahuati-speaking communities (in other communities as well)\, the Virgin continues to be call “Tonantzin” and her appearance is commemorated on December 12 each year. \nRowan has been active in the pagan community of northern New Mexico for over 35 years. She is a third degree initiate of the Ladywoods tradition and currently serves as the Dean of the School of Magick and Witchcraft at Ardantane. In her mundane life\, she holds a BS in education from UT El Paso\, and an MBA from UNM. She has taught at festivals in New Mexico and Colorado and nationally\, but enjoys teaching at Ardantane the most. \n\nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.  Others must register below.
