SUMMARY:“I am the Whore and the Holy Woman” - Unveiling the Divine Feminine in Esoteric Christianity
DESCRIPTION:“I am the Whore and the Holy Woman”\, “I am She\, the Lord…” These are quotes from an ancient Gnostic poem written in a female voice\, “The Thunder Perfect Mind”\, found in Egypt in 1945 as part of the Nag Hammadi codices. It is estimated to have been written around the 2nd to 4th century CE. \nWomen were a huge part of\, and equal partners in\, the early days and many sects of Christianity. Yeshua Ben Joseph – known also to many as Jesus Christ – was a true revolutionary in teaching to\, and having\, female disciples\, at a time when that was tantamount to heresy. \nTwo of the prominent female figures in early Christianity\, mentioned both in the canonical gospels (the gospels that form the modern bible)\, and even more extensively in the “gnostic” texts (a broad name for a number of gospels and texts intentionally left out of the bible and labeled as heretical)\, are Mary Magdalene and Mother Mary. They are labeled later in orthodox Christianity as Sinner and Saint\, Whore and Virgin. In this class\, we will explore what they have to teach us about the nature of Feminine Power\, and the suppression of it. Why it is feared\, reviled\, separated; and consigned into two categories that seriously limit its full expression\, even as they are also a part of it. We will explore the nature of some of these Gnostic texts and uncover the fundamental differences in numerous Christian sects that have shaped our mindset\, culture\, spiritual journey\, and the view of the Feminine for over 2\,000 years. \nYou will hear tales of Powers and Miracles from historical accounts and experiences following the Mary Magdalene trail through the south of France and Spain – places where their stories are still alive\, and their voices still echo. Join us for a fascinating and illuminating discussion. \nMonica Devi Bhakti is a co-founder of the Sacred Mountain Mystery School\, where together with Steve Wilson\, they create sacred spaces for deep transformational growth. Monica is a Psychic Therapist\, Soul Code Coach\, Heart-Centered Counselor\, Intuitive Reader\, Minister\, Somatic Healer & Transformational Retreat Leader. She has been helping people heal\, empower and free themselves for over 35 years. Specializing in working with Highly Sensitive individuals\, and those overcoming trauma\, Monica seeks to assist people in healing at the deepest levels. Working together to resolve blocks and release patterns\, so that you can embody your Essential Self – your divine blueprint – give the gifts you were born to give into the world\, and fulfill your destiny. When you experience true healing\, new pathways are created\, igniting passion and purpose. Addressing all aspects of being – physical\, mental\, emotional\, and spiritual\, she works with individuals and groups through sessions\, ceremony\, workshops\, and retreats to Sacred Sites.
