SUMMARY:Touching the Past Honoring Our Ancestors
DESCRIPTION:Let us explore where we came from\, and what our past can teach us of the present and future. Along the way\, we will look at human evolution and prehistory\, and discuss ways that we can honor our forebears while enriching our own lives\, through tributes\, storytelling\, shrines\, offerings\, and pilgrimages. \nWe will muse upon Christopher Penczak’s categories of ancestors\, and think upon the legacies we will gift to the world when we join them. The evening will be a blend of science\, genealogy\, spiritual practice\, and expanding our knowledge of who we are\, based on where we came from. \nThough the evening is more presentation than sharing\, you are welcome to share a brief bio of one of your most intriguing ancestors\, in the Chat. “Those who are remembered\, live.” \nYour presenter is Amber K\, priestess\, author\, and Executive Director of Ardantane. \nAmber K is the author of True Magick and has co-authored other books on the Craft and magick with Azrael Arynn K\, including the new edition of CovenCraft\, Candlemas\, The Heart of Tarot\, and the award-winning RitualCraft. She is also the Executive Director of Ardantane\, and Dean of the School of Pagan Leadership. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. Be sure to add the number of tickets you want before clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. The fee is $10. \nRegistration closes at 5PM Mountain Time on Thursday\, October 6.

Those who work 3-4 hours receive $20 in Beaver Bucks. First-timers are awarded the Blessed Beaver patch (embroidered emblem) to wear proudly on a cap or work shirt. SUMMARY:The Goddess Freya
DESCRIPTION:The Goddess Freya is widely known as the Norse Goddess of sex\, love\, fertility\, and war\, riding on her chariot pulled by cats. But Freya is no Aphrodite. She rivals Odin in magickal knowledge and even chooses half his dead warriors from the battlefield to come to her eternal fields of Folkvangr. Join this Freya’s Day Fireside Seminar to explore this intriguing–and sometimes even controversial—goddess in her many aspects. \nTara Keine is an active Ardantane student\, teacher. She’s a member of the Colorado CrowWomen coven when she isn’t strumming her ukulele\, belly dancing or playing with her pet rabbits. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. Be sure to add the number of tickets you want before clicking the Blue GET TICKETS button. The fee is $10. \nRegistration closes at 5PM Mountain Time on Thursday\, October 20\,

DESCRIPTION:October 28\, @ 7-9 PM Mountain Time \nThe Warrior has four seasons\, each with particular activities associated to them. The first begins at Samhain\, a season of healing\, preparation\, and planning. It is a time of making resolutions for the coming year. The training focuses on the effective use of magickal energy and developing psychic skills. Our members are spread across the globe and connect through local preceptories and on line. All members are expected to participate and contribute. \nThis class is free to supporting members of Ardantane. Others must register below. SUMMARY:Celtic Samhain Gathering
DESCRIPTION:All are invited to a Samhain commemoration on Saturday\, October 29 at Ardantane\, south of Jemez Springs.\n\nSamhain\, pronounced “SOW-en\,” is the Celtic equivalent of the Day of the Dead\, a time to remember those who have passed and honor our ancestors. Though it officially takes place on October 31st\, we will gather on Saturday the 29th to avoid conflict with family Halloween festivities.\n\nWe will begin gathering at 6:00 pm at the geodesic dome on the Ardantane campus. The ritual will begin at 6:30\, and include song and storytelling. There will be an Altar of Remembrance; you may bring photos or tokens for anyone you wish to honor\, and place them on the altar. Just remember to take them home afterwards (it might be wise to include a card with your name and contact information\, so we know where forgotten items need to go).\n\nThere will be a potluck dinner after the ceremony. Please bring a dish or beverage to share; and if you can make a small card listing ingredients\, those with special diets will appreciate it.\n\nDress is casual\, though wearing black or dark colors is traditional. People of all faiths and beliefs are welcome. There is no charge\, though contributions to defray expenses are always welcome.\n\nPLEASE NOTE that we are asking you to RSVP if you are planning to attend\, so we can plan the event carefully. Get your name and the number in your party to Amber at (505) 469-7777; you may call or text. Contact her at the same number for questions or directions.
