DESCRIPTION:The course consists of four classes\, the first four Tuesdays in October\, online\, from 7-9 pm each evening. \nThis four part class offers overviews of four different types of Divination\, taught by subject matter matter from the Ardantane faculty and staff. \nThe Magick of Runes\, Bindrunes\, and the Twig Code\nTaught by Amber K)- October 3 – The Norse and Germanic peoples of old knew that Odin hung and suffered on the World Tree for nine days and nights\, to gain the power of the runes. Begin to discover this for yourself… with much less pain. DESCRIPTION:We work from 8:00 or 9:00 AM\, depending on the season… starting earlier in summer\, later in winter. We begin with a simple opening ceremony\, and end sometime in the afternoon\, usually around 4:00 PM—but you can come at any time during the day. (Some folks do special projects at other times\, to fit their personal schedules\, by arrangement with the Director.) \nVolunteers who work a “full” day—six hours or more—receive $40 in Beaver Bucks (applicable to any Ardantane event fee). Those who work 3-4 hours receive $20 in Beaver Bucks. First-timers are awarded the Blessed Beaver patch (embroidered emblem) to wear proudly on a cap or work shirt. Everyone receives free lunch and beverages\, as well as healthy exercise and camaraderie. DESCRIPTION:The dark moon is a time to reflect\, delve into the dark of our unconscious\, and observe ourselves with greater clarity. For many witches\, this is a very different time than that of the new moon. SUMMARY:Identifying Poisonous Plants: How to Avoid Poisoning Yourself or Others
DESCRIPTION:Can you tell the difference between Queen Anne’s Lace and poison hemlock? Should you be concerned if your neighbor’s toddler nibbles on the Lily of the Valley growing in your yard? Just how much nutmeg is a fatal dose? How many apple seeds give you a fatal dose of cyanide? \nEmber will answer these questions\, and others\, while also providing information about which common ornamentals are toxic\, what medicinal plants require caution\, and she includes some antidotes as well as bonus material on other poisons. \nWhile the focus is on identifying poisonous plants so you don’t harm yourself or others\, Ember will also offer a brief introduction to the magickal correspondences found along the poison path. \nEmber has had a special interest in plants and herbal medicine all of her life. It started with her five-year-old self eating dandelions and tasting milkweed. Important reminder: supervise your children!
