SUMMARY:Return to the Mother: Human Composting
DESCRIPTION:A look at various methods of body disposal: how they work\, benefits and detriments\, costs\, environmental impact. Suggested ways for loved ones’ direct involvement in the dying and after-death process\, grieving\, and celebration of life. \nM. Macha NightMare\, Witch at Large\, is a ritualist\, both solo and collaborative\, interfaith and environmental activist\, and a published author. She was in the original of Reclaiming Collective in San Francisco. Reclaiming has evolved into a Craft tradition. Macha co-created\, with Starhawk\, The Pagan Book of Living and Dying and is author of Witchcraft and the Web: Weaving Pagan Traditions Online and Pagan Pride: Honoring the Craft and Culture of Earth and Goddess. She has contributed to many anthologies\, religious studies textbooks\, encyclopedia entries\, and guest blogs. Macha holds Elder and ministerial credentials through the Covenant of the Goddess. A member since 1981\, currently a national interfaith representative. Cherry Hill Seminary\, (in several capacities\, currently as an Advisor. She is also an Advisor to COMPASS (Commons of Modern Pagans and Spiritual Seekers)\, where she works with the Pagan History Project\, among other projects. She serves Wiccan inmates at San Quentin State Prison and Wiccan patients at Napa State Hospital. Member of the American Academy of Religion Pagan Studies Unit;\, and Marin Interfaith Council\, a Cooperation Circle of the United Religions Initiative\, and CCL-EBSAT (Citizens Climate Lobby Earth-Based Spirituality Action Team). In her efforts at fostering Pagan solidarity\, she views documenting\, archiving\, and preserving our Pagan heritage\, especially as it relates to telling the stories of elders and founders\, as essential. SUMMARY:Artificial Intelligence and Paganism
DESCRIPTION:The talk will be basically two parts. First\, understanding what generative AI is and how it works. This can be a complicated process of using labeled data to train the generative AI bot.\n\nSecond\, what is the impact of generative AI on our society and Paganism\, in particular. There will be major impacts\, but these are not yet known.\n\nPagans range from Technopagans\, who love all new technologies\, to Pastoral Pagans\, who long to return to a simple less technical rural life style.\n\nMost of us are in between these two extremes. We drive cars and use the web\, but do not worship technology.\n\n\nMerlyn is retired\, widowed and living in Albuquerque. He is a third degree initiate in OLW and Ladywood Tradition. Meryl retired from LANL where he worked for 9 years and as a contractor for 12 years. SUMMARY:Volunteer Work Day April 2026
DESCRIPTION:Contribute your energy\, time\, and talents to the upkeep of our beautiful campus near Jemez Springs\, New Mexico. We work from 8:00 or 9:00 AM\, depending on the season… starting earlier in summer\, later in winter. We begin with a simple opening ceremony\, and end sometime in the afternoon\, usually around 3:00 PM—but you can come at any time during the day. (Some folks do special projects at other times\, to fit their personal schedules\, by arrangement with the Director.)  \nVolunteers who work a “full” day—six hours or more—receive $40 in Beaver Bucks (applicable to any Ardantane event fee). Those who work 3-4 hours receive $20 in Beaver Bucks. First-timers are awarded the Blessed Beaver patch (embroidered emblem) to wear proudly on a cap or work shirt. Everyone receives free lunch and beverages\, as well as healthy exercise and camaraderie.  \nBring your sun hat and work gloves (we have loaners if you need them).  \nContact Azrael Arryn K at azraelak@gmail.com for directions and information.
