Myths: The Stories of You

June 20, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$10
We all read some myths in school–usually Greek stories, about Theseus and the Minotaur or other heroes and gods from long ago. Fun, but what do these ancient tales have to do with modern people living today? What could they possibly mean to me or you?
Everything, as it turns out. The old stories have lasted for thousands of years because they hold truths about humanity; because with allegory and symbol and maybe-fictional characters, they speak to our own lives even today.
Once we understand the language of myth, we can even write our own life stories in mythic form… and use them to light the way forward in our lives. We are all the heroes and heroines of our tales, on our unique quests, battling ogres in different forms, seeking our personal holy grails or the hand of the princess or the path that leads home.
