Identifying Poisonous Plants: How to Avoid Poisoning Yourself or Others

Can you tell the difference between Queen Anne’s Lace and poison hemlock? Should you be concerned if your neighbor’s toddler nibbles on the Lily of the Valley growing in your yard? Just how much nutmeg is a fatal dose? How many apple seeds give you a fatal dose of cyanide?
Ember will answer these questions, and others, while also providing information about which common ornamentals are toxic, what medicinal plants require caution, and she includes some antidotes as well as bonus material on other poisons.
While the focus is on identifying poisonous plants so you don’t harm yourself or others, Ember will also offer a brief introduction to the magickal correspondences found along the poison path.
Ember has had a special interest in plants and herbal medicine all of her life. It started with her five-year-old self eating dandelions and tasting milkweed. Important reminder: supervise your children! Since then, she has spent the past 50 years studying medicinal herbs, making salves and tinctures, and identifying as many plants as she can.
