The talk will be basically two parts. First, understanding what generative AI is and how it works. This can be a complicated process of using labeled data to train the generative AI bot.
Second, what is the impact of generative AI on our society and Paganism, in particular. There will be major impacts, but these are not yet known.
Pagans range from Technopagans, who love all new technologies, to Pastoral Pagans, who long to return to a simple less technical rural life style.
Most of us are in between these two extremes. We drive cars and use the web, but do not worship technology.
Merlyn is retired, widowed and living in Albuquerque. He is a third degree initiate in OLW and Ladywood Tradition. Meryln retired from LANL where he worked for 9 years and as a contractor for 12 years. He has a Ph.D Biology and enjoys e-biking, reading ebooks and web surfing.This class is free to supporting members of Ardantane.
