Join us for an exploration of Asherah, one of the oldest documented mother goddesses anywhere in the world, and at one time known as “God’s wife.” She was worshiped from Mesopotamia to the Mediterranean and appears in the mythological texts from ancient Sumer, the Hittite and Assyrian Empires, Egypt, Israel, and Judah.

She was worshiped from Mesopotamia to the Mediterranean and appears in the mythological texts written on cuneiform tablets from Sumer (3500-1900 B.C.), the Akkadian empire (2334-2154 B.C.), the Assyrians (2500–609 B.C.), the Hittites (1750-1650 B.C.), Egypt, Israel, and Judah.
Lora Jackson Legare has been a practicing Wiccan for 35 years. She is a professional archaeologist, professor of anthropology, artist and writer. She has led numerous public rituals in southern New Mexico and conducted workshops and classes on developing connections with Celtic Goddesses and Gods, stone magick, and magickal correspondences, and led many guided meditations.
