Coyote Tales

January 12 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$10

A coyote is the American “song dog” who has spread all over the United States and beyond; but Coyote, or Old Man Coyote, is a teacher, trickster, and culture hero of the American Southwest. Several Native American tribes tell his stories, depicting Coyote as wise, curious, bawdy, adventurous, reckless, and sometimes devious. Amber is not Native American, and cannot provide any special tribal understanding of this enigmatic figure. She can only share some of the stories and her individual perspective, from having studied and worked with Coyote for several years. But she believes he has a lot to teach to anyone of any culture, if we are ready to listen.
